When I tell folks my story about not wanting to eat my vegetables when I was a kid, they always seem to say that It's wonderful to hear about my learned love of veggies and that my mother’s famous lemon garlic broccoli helped my journey towards appreciating vegetables.
It's a common experience for many people to resist eating vegetables as kids but then develop an appreciation for them as they grow older. My childhood fondness for spinach, inspired by Popeye, is a great example of how fun characters and stories can influence our food choices.
Eating a variety of vegetables is indeed beneficial for building a strong and healthy body. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other essential nutrients that support overall well-being. It's a great way to lead by example for your kids and show them the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet. Kudos to my mom for encouraging me to eat me veggies. I'm so happy to have carried on the tradition by serving broccoli to my kids, who now appreciate it.
So, yes, mom you knew what you were talking about, and it's a testament to the enduring wisdom of parents when it comes to instilling healthy eating habits. Grazie indeed for setting us on the path to a nutritious and delicious diet!
